SAMPLE PROMPTS
Noir
Your character is a bartender in a speakeasy or other underground establishment. What are his connections to the criminal network in the city? Does he act as an informant to the police, help arrange meetings between mobsters, or something else? What kinds of activities, illegal or otherwise, does he witness in his bar every night? What interesting stories might he have to tell?
Serial Killer
Individuals who interact with your detective start turning up dead. For example, the barista who serves her a morning coffee, the bagger at the grocery store, etc. Why is the serial killer targeting her acquaintances instead of her loved ones? How does she connect the pattern and save those around her?
NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR
If you're in a creative rut, know that I've been there, too. I spent far too long struggling with my inability to write, and it negatively affected several aspects of my life. That's why I wrote 100 Crime Fiction Writing Prompts – because I know what it's like to feel creatively empty, and I want to help other writers beat their own blocks.
In this booklet, I've combined techniques from my days in university (I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing) with the real-world lessons I learned from writing my own fiction novels. The result? A list of 100 prompts to get your creative gears spinning. But that's all I can do. The rest is up to you.

I try not to write a bad review but there is always a first. I'm always writing I'm a writer. And so when I saw this I jumped on it. I was excited to find some Crime fiction writing. I must say I was deeply disappointed. I read the book over and over again still nothing. This was not what I thought. Maybe someone might benefit from this book but not me.Product details
